Challenge
BMW asked LBi to provide an extranet for their dealer network. The extranet has to be maintained by BMW's advertising agency so an easy to use and self-explaining back-end to manage the content of the various dealer websites was needed.
Solutions
LBi built a custom made solution on the Microsoft .NET platform. This CMS contains a number of fixed modules that are managed centrally so that the dealers can reuse them in their own websites, by simply selecting them and change some parameterizations.
Dealer sites are all created, edited, deleted and published from the same extranet application.
The following standard modules were included: general dealer information and pages, price info, CO2 info, job section, promotion & teasers, events information, second hand car information, contact info and team description.
Thanks to the content management system, developed in Microsoft ASP .NET, the BMW Group Belux and her dealers can manage and update the content of their own websites independently. LBi successfully achieved this result with the aid of only one external BMW coach.
