Case study

Telindus
New website

Challenge

Mid 2008, Telindus asked LBi to help them to set up a new website for their existing John Cordier Academy’s website. The website is a commercial website that sells trainings for IT professionals. The objective was to integrate their new branding – integrating into Belgacom – while providing them with an efficient and performing content management tool to manage their website in easy manner.

Solutions

LBi came up with a global solution that integrated the business requirements as well as a new content management solution. The solution is a new product of Interwoven (LiveSite) which enhanced the current TeamSite content management system capabilities used at Belgacom until now. The main strength of LiveSite is the ability to provide the user with a real WYSYWYG and more intuitive experience when creating the website and editing the pages. Among many other assets, the combination of TeamSite and LiveSite simplifies the daily tasks of the website content manager.

Our internal team implemented and customized the solution in order to fulfill all requirements:

  • Link to SAP for daily courses import into our system
  • Criteria-based advanced search
  • Google Search Appliance integration for deep search capacities
  • 3 languages handling
  • Taxonomy
  • Cross selling on each course page

Aside, another new powerful Interwoven product has been integrated to our solution for the media file management. This application, MediaBin, can import, resize, edit and displays easily images, animations or documents on the website.

Responsibilities LBi

  • LBi led the workshops to allow describing and defining the Functional Analysis.
  • LBi had to design the architecture and to install the whole solution within the complex Belgacom environment.
  • Hand in hand with an Interwoven product implementation expert (TBSCG), LBi deployed the application as well as custom developments.
  • Training have been prepared and held with the help of TBSCG.
  • LBi also performed the testing and the quality control.
  • Hosting: two load balanced servers for high performance

  • TeamSite 6.7.2
  • LiveSite 3.1
  • MediaBin
  • Java 5
  • XSLT
