Case study

Metro
Internet website

Challenge

Opening a first branch in Belgium also means creating a brand new website. In 2003, on the 4th of June, Metro launched the first Metro website. Initially starting with a basic site, expanding and growing along with the company's needs.

Solutions

Metro needed a solution to easily and quickly publish information without any external help. That is why they chose for the Content Manager WebEngine.

The site illustrates Metro's concept in detail, dynamically and creatively. Other highlights of the site are the team presentation, the professional and personal approach in the stores.

Metro cardholders can access daily prices for fresh produce (vegetables, fruit and fish) and extra promotions. Today Metro is also using the interactive promotion folder we developed and witch is directly synchronised with Metro's internal Digital Asset Management System. So, the online promotion folders are fully automatic updates each time a new promotion folder is established in their Digital Asset Management System.

About Metro

After the enormous success in different countries, Metro now also serves professionals in Belgium. Its sophisticated concept makes Metro the place to shop for the catering and food industry. Today there are 4 Metro malls in Belgium. Likely this will increase up to 8 or 10 in future.

Because of its well-considered locations, Metro will be optimally accessible for all catering professionals and retail traders. Their clients will never have to be on their way for more than half an hour, which is an extra advantage to guarantee the cold chain after purchase.
